Hello all and Happy Friday!! (TGIF, right?)
I know, I know, Christmas is over and we're all trying to put this cold weather behind us, but I just got some new stamps from Whimsy Stamps AND THEY ARE PRECIOUS!! You guys know that when you get a new stamp, you just have to use it...no matter what. So I did! I had a little time between classes and I popped out a card with the Xmas Hamster and I just adore this little fellow.

Isn't he adorable? I stamped him on a 5 1/4in by 4in piece of heavy cardstock (later attached to an A2 card front made of the same heavy cardstock). Then, I colored him in with my Copics and used my Wink of Stella to add a little sparkle to the ornament, the little bubbles, and his tiny nose. I also added some Glossy Accents to the little bubbles to give them a more dimensional look.

The ornament string didn't extend to the top of the card like I wanted it to so I grabbed a black fine tip marker and drew the rest of it up...no it isn't straight, but I won't fuss over that. If you want to recreate this card or do something similar, a ruler would probably be the best option if you want it straight or anything with a straight edge if you don't have a ruler handy.

The sentiment is from a the Pamela Loves Poinsettia stamp set by Stamping Bella in their Tiny Townies collection. I just inked up the top of the stamp for the front and used the rest of it for the sentiment on the inside. And Voila! It is complete!

No, I can't send him out quite yet, but hey, I'm ready for when the time comes! I guess I'm getting ahead on my Christmas card collection! Ha! It won't sneak up on me this time.

Hello everyone and happy Sunday!! It's been a while since I've posted anything, but I finally got to spend some time crafting and I thought I would share a little bit of how I organize my crafting goodies.

I can't take any credit for how I do this...my mother was the one who initially introduced me to the idea of keeping a book filled with stamped images of all the stamp sets I own. She showed me many years ago when I first began my crafting journey. I had way too many stamps (which we all know is impossible, but at the time I was a young grasshopper swimming in wood mount stamps and silly little foam stamps ) and when it came time to creating something, I had absolutely zero idea on how to start or what stamps to use or sometimes I would remember that one stamp, but no clue on where the heck it was. God bless my mother who came to my rescue and who kept me from drowning in my frustration!

Well, today I decided to update my book and share with you all how I plan on doing it. I knew from the start that I needed something that would be easy to change if I get rid of a stamp set in the future or get my hands on a new one. I'm not sure if any of you are in on the planner craze that seems to be going around, but I am and I have this day journal by 365 Create that fit my needs to a T. There is so much to explain so I'll try to keep it short and sweet so I don't bore you all to death!

365 Create (aka My Happy Planner) sells covers, binding rings, page punchers, calendar extensions, and even pre-made page sets for fitness, recipes, and tons more that I adore. It lets you make your planner your own and keep it going for as long as you can. The page puncher even lets you make your own pages to slip in which is what initially sparked this idea. I grabbed some extra covers, binding rings, and printer paper and got to work!

This first picture shows the cover and the binding rings.

This next picture shows the dividers that I used. I had some left over from my actual planner so a few have some calendar pages on the back, but I love the fun designs on the front so I couldn't help but use them anyway! I just used my label maker to cover up the months so I could separate my stamps into sections to make it easier to find what I need.

And this last picture not only shows my messy desk (you can see my day planner in the background with the polka dots on the cover!), but it also shows the inside of the birthday section so far. I cut off about and inch and a half from the top and side of the printer paper and used the page puncher to let me stick it in the book.

Now, there are plenty of other ways someone could make a book of their stamps. My mom uses an old little binder she had and punches the pages with a 3-hole punch. It would also be pretty easy just to slip paper into a page protector in a binder too! There are tons of options...or a whole other method of viewing your stamp images! If you have another idea, I would absolutely love to hear about it!!
